Our customer is seeking a skilled and motivated Shipping Clerk for their Central Florida Region. A successful Shipping Clerk should be able to fulfill certain duties and responsibilities. Shipping Clerk demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas. They can perform efficiently in a warehouse and dispatch environment by handling incoming and outgoing deliveries. This position will report directly to Office Manager
What your typical workday looks like:
  • Obtain and process products orders, including receiving deliveries, registering them and distributing packages and letter within the company
  • Maintain the company stock room through organizing, cleaning, and cataloging item on a regular basis
  • Schedule large shipments and plan logistics to ensure that there is sufficient storage space for incoming items and staff on hand to manage the shipments.
  • Keep files of goods shipped and received by preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for managers
  • Ensure adherence to environmental management and systems
  • Trouble shoot shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to solve them
  • Place merchandise in a warehouse or storage facility be packaging, lifting items as necessary, operating forklift and pallets jacks for large goods.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to drive a 24-foot box truck
  • Manage national accounts for fortune 500 companies
  • Keep and verify records of outgoing shipments
  • Arrange trucks through contract carriers shipping LTL and full truckloads
  • Arrange shipping of products utilizing UPS shipping system
  • Prepare shipping labels for contract carriers
  • Determine best method of shipment based on order requirement and cost
  • Maintain inventory of shipping material as well as supplies 
  • Prepares action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project number of contacts to be made
  • Addresses and resolves customer service inquiries, requests and complaints.
What you need:
  • At least 2 years’ experience 
  • Experience in logistics coordination required
  • Experience in utilizing ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems a plus
  • Must possess intermediate computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and reasoning skills
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to have deep business discussions with customers
  • Technically oriented and computer literate
  • Desire to win and produce results
  • Demonstrated leadership/managerial potential
