The Arango & Associates team has more than 50 years of executive search experience in connecting the brightest talent to leadership level opportunities. Our client is seeking experienced Producers to be responsible for selling new business to ensure continued profitable growth for the agency. Will process information and provide quotes to new clients, sell additional coverages to existing clients, and retain existing accounts to achieve personal production goals.

What Your Typical Workday Looks Like

  • Process customer information via in-bound customer transfers and make sales presentations
  • Build customer file with quotes and follow-up for maximum results
  • Balance production to achieve desired mix of business
  • Promote products of carriers that the firm has identified as important
  • Accurately and thoroughly complete application forms before marketing or submitting to be marketed
  • Conduct periodic meetings with Account Managers to provide updates and ensure policies and procedures are understood
  • Arrange payment terms for all accounts in accordance with agency credit and collections policies
  • Gather information on renewals
  • Deliver renewals and/or binders following agency guidelines
  • Keep abreast of trends and techniques to maintain a competitive status for the agency within the industry
  • Attend sales seminars, company sales meetings, or educational activities needed to improve sales techniques, stay up to date on the latest developments in the marketplace, and maintain required licenses
  • Review all agency activities relating to the public, customers, and companies to avoid issues involving potential errors and omissions
  • Adherence to Company policies and procedures
  • Ability to fulfill job responsibilities through acceptable job attendance

Education & Experience

  • Must have or be willing to obtain all licenses as required by the State Department of Insurance
  • College degree and CPCU, CIC, and ARM designations (highly desirable)
  • Minimum 3 years sales experience with proven sales success demonstrated (highly desirable)


  • Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to make presentations to groups effectively
  • Ability to lead and influence others
  • Self-motivated and possess excellent listening and communication skills
  • Effective organizational skills and the ability to respond to requests effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions with multiple variables
  • Prior sales/production and marketing/underwriting experience in an insurance agency or brokerage firm
  • Possess Commercial Lines product knowledge
  • Knowledge of agency systems and company relationships
  • Team player and willing to find accommodating solutions for our customers, companies, and Agency
  • Fast-paced multiple tasking, high disruption and ever-changing environment
  • Ability to perform 80% sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and negligible force frequently
  • All requirements may be modified to reasonably accommodate physically or mentally challenged employees

  • Requires operation of a computer workstation, including keyboard and video display terminal
  • Requires verbal and written communication
  • Mental or emotional fatigue can be caused by travel requirements, continuous repetition, concentrated attention for prolonged periods of time, or lack of control over work pace or priorities
  • Other demands may include: reading, watching, studying, observing; inspecting, proof reading, manual manipulation; operating office equipment, monitoring computer terminals, technical trouble shooting
