Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Case Management to lead and oversee the case management department at our healthcare facility in Ottumwa, Iowa. This leadership role is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that ensure efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective care coordination, utilization review, and discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide overall leadership and direction for the case management team, including RNs, social workers, and support staff

Oversee the daily operations of utilization review, discharge planning, and care coordination

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and organizational policies
-
Develop and monitor departmental goals, policies, and procedures to ensure effective service delivery
-
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and administrative leaders to promote patient-centered care and optimal resource utilization

Monitor case management outcomes and implement performance improvement initiatives
-
Manage departmental budget and staffing to support operational effectiveness
Required Qualifications:
-
Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program

Current RN license in the state of Iowa or a multistate license permitting practice in Iowa

Minimum of two years of case management experience in areas such as utilization management, discharge planning, or cost/quality improvement
-
Proven leadership skills with experience in managing teams or programs within a healthcare setting
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
-
Certification in Case Management (CCM or ACM)
-
Familiarity with healthcare regulations, insurance processes, and EMR systems
-
Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills
